5 Steps To Identify Your Skin Type And Take Care Accordingly

Cleanse, Tone, Exfoliate, Moisturize and Protect Each step is important, but some are more essential than others depending on your skin type.

Mention 5 Different Skin Types

There are 5 different skin types. Such as, normal, oily, dry, combination, and sensitive skin.

1. Normal skin – Normal skin is the most common type of skin. It is one of the most healthy and balanced. It has a balance between the production of sebum and the production of sweat.

If you have normal skin it includes: smooth texture, fine pores, no sensitivity, no breakouts and radiant complexions.

If you have normal skin, you do not have to pay much attention to skin care routine. However, you should make sure you keep the skin healthy, and drink plenty of water to hydrate it daily. You must also gradually build a routine to provide some hydration to the skin that may dry out.

2. Oily skin – Oily skin tends to have more oil and is often prone to acne.

If you have oily skin it includes: greasy skin, open pores, prone to breakouts, whiteheads, blackheads and other blemishes.

If you have oily skin Wash your face in the morning before you apply makeup. You don’t have to wash it every night, but it won’t hurt to wash it every night if you can. Otherwise, if you just wash it once in the morning, it is enough. Wash your face with milder soaps and cleansers. You should try to stay hydrated. If you drink water, you won’t produce as much sebum. Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin moisturized. Use sunscreen to prevent sun damage. If your skin is already oily, use a sunscreen that is oil-free.

3. Dry skin – Dry skin is mostly an issue of lack of moisture in the skin. It is mostly characterized by an appearance of flakes and dryness. It is usually found on the faces, arms, and legs.

If you have dry skin it includes: flaky and rough skin, dry texture, visible lines, darker complexions.

If you have dry skin, moisturize your skin regularly, it will keep your skin hydrated and prevent it from producing less oil. Choosing the right moisturizer is important. A lotion-based, lightweight moisturizer is advised. Avoid using chemical-laden, thick skincare products and ingredients. Drink enough water to keep your skin moist. It’s better to take shorter showers. No more than twice daily. And use sunscreen to prevent your skin from getting dehydrated.

4. Combination skin – Combination skin is the result of a combination of oily and dry skin. It is often characterized by a greasy look. Combination-type skin requires protection from direct sunlight because it is oilier than other types of skin and more sensitive to the damaging effects of the sun.

If you have combination skin it includes: Oily T-zone and dry cheeks, Skin breakouts only on forehead, chin and nose, Sensitive cheeks, Large, open pores, and Shiny skin.

If you have combination skin, Moisturizing regularly will keep your skin hydrated and prevent it from overproducing sebum. Choose the right moisturizer for your skin type. Drink enough water to keep your skin moist. This will prevent your skin from producing excess oil. Wash your face two times a day to remove dirt and bacteria that may clog your pores. Don’t over wash. Over washing can remove necessary oils from your skin. This can result in sensitive skin and make it more oil-prone. Everyday use of sunscreen is essential as it’s a rich source of antioxidants. Choose an oil-free product to protect your skin.

5. Sensitive skin – Sensitive skin has an exaggerated reaction to chemical irritants. It causes redness, itching, and flaking. If it often hurts when you apply moisturizer or sunscreen, you may have sensitive skin.

If you have sensitive skin it includes: itching and redness, flaky skin, Skin feels itchy and tight, It becomes oily in summer and gets dry in the winters, reacts to skin care,

If you have sensitive skin, don’t spend too much time in the sun. It is important to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. Take care of your skin every time you step out. Use sunscreen. It’s best to use a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. Don’t use products that contain alcohol, as it can dry out your skin. Also, avoid products that contain any type of fragrance, as these types of products can irritate and dry out your skin. Use moisturizers and oils for hydration.
